Laissez Les Bon Temps Roulez! Let the good times roll!! Mardi Gras 2013

We have had a blast this Mardi Gras season. We started it off with a parade of our own. Brexley came up with the idea and we had so much fun. She wore her alligator costume and a crown and couldn't wait to get T-Rex involved.

We made our first King Cake and it was delicious. Thank you Amanda for sending me the recipe from Southern Living. We made ours with cream cheese filing, raspberry preserves and cinnamon and sugar. SO GOOD!! Brexley decorated it and even wrote a note to go with it. It says :"Whoever finds the baby Jesus has to give it to somebody else." Well of course our darling girl found the baby and decided to give it to her Daddy.

This past weekend we went and visited it the greatest friends in the whole world. I could write tons about this trip but lets just say it was one of the best weekends we have ever had. SO MUCH FUN!

Shrimp Sop (not sure how to spell it!) Michael LOVES this dish and has been waiting 6 years to go see Mr. Jimmy and have it again. It did not disappoint!

What a fabulous Mardi Gras season. None of us wanted to leave and come home but life goes on!
