Michael's Great Aunt was having a birthday party/family reunion this past weekend in Carthage, TX. We found out Carthage is only about 40 miles from Longview so we decided to go visit my Mom for the weekend. We left on Friday afternoon and it felt like the LONGEST car ride ever!!! I forgot what it's like to travel with an infant. What normally is a 2 and a 1/2 hour trip turned out to be more of a 4 hour trip. Do you have any idea how many times we heard "When are we going to get to Gammy's? When will we be in Longview, TX?" Any of you with kids can figure out the # was staggering! We finally arrived at Gammy's and had a wonderful FFFN! Great food, great fun! On Saturday Michael and B headed to the reunion and Mom and I took T-Rex for a walk on one of there fabulous outdoor paths. I just love towns that have great outdoor places. I just wish Monroe had stuff like that. I think this paved path we were on goes for 6 miles and it's pet friendly. Makes me think of Tampa! Mom and I then had some Chicken Express (my favorite) for lunch. It was a great day! On Sunday morning we got Panera and had a breakfast picnic in the park, played and then took a walk. Michael said it was the most relaxing weekend he has had in months! That makes me feel so good. My Mom is such a great hostess too. For an extra treat Michael's parents and my fabulous nephew Brandon came by on there way home from the reunion to visit me and T-Rex! Brexley was VERY sad to leave on Sunday and cried on the way home. The great thing about coming home though was that my house was sooooo clean! Love it! It's so wonderful to come home from somewhere to a clean house. Ahhhhh.... now only if it will stay that way!
